Owner, Educational Diagnostician, Irlen Diagnostician & Academic Therapist
Stephanie earned her bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in learning disabilities and secondary teaching certification from Illinois College in 1983 and her M.Ed. in the Educational Psychology and Special Education with her certification as a Certified Professional Educational Diagnostician from the University of Houston in 1997. She has also screened clients for Irlen Syndrome for over 10 years. In 2022, she completed her certification as an Irlen Diagnostician. She’s worked with students with special needs for over forty years. During college, she worked with deaf students. Her teaching career spans twelve years of working with middle and high school students. She worked as an educational diagnostician in several of the greater Houston area public school districts for over ten years, completing assessments and working with special education teachers to develop appropriate instruction. Now in private practice for almost 20 years, she has been privileged to work with parents, students, and schools to pinpoint and make changes to aspects of learning programs and environments so that students’ needs are met. One of her proudest achievements is navigating her 2E son through public and private school systems so that he obtained an outstanding education with appropriate accommodations.
Math Specialist
Stephanie specializes in math at the secondary and post-secondary levels. She is a native Houstonian, graduating from Bellaire High School (HISD) in 2004. She has a B.S. in Mathematics and a Masters in Teaching, both from Simmons University in Boston, Massachusetts. She also serves on the Board of Directors at The Company OnStage theatre as Treasurer.
