Stephanie Martin-Williams, M.Ed.

Owner, Educational Diagnostician & Academic Therapist

Stephanie received a B.A. in English with a minor in learning disabilities and secondary teaching certification from Illinois College in 1983 and her M.Ed. in the Educational Psychology and Special Education with her certification as a Certified Professional Educational Diagnostician from the University of Houston in 1997. She’s worked with students with special needs for over thirty years. During college, she worked with students at the Illinois School for the Deaf. Her teaching career spans twelve years of working with middle through high school students. She worked as an educational diagnostician in many of greater Houston area public school districts for over ten years, completing assessments and working with special education teachers to develop appropriate instruction. Before opening Houston Educational Services, she worked at The Clinic for Academic Therapy for eight years as an educational therapist and testing specialist.  Now as owner of Houston Educational Services, she has the opportunity to work with parents, students, and schools to pinpoint and make changes to aspects of learning programs and environments so that students’ needs are met. One of her proudest achievements is navigating her 2E son through public and private school systems so that he has been able to obtain an outstanding education with appropriate accommodations.  

Zubeen Mehta

Cognitive Skills & Academic Therapist

Zubeen Mehta holds a B. A. (1980) and Master's (1984) degree in French from the University of Oxford, England.  She received the Professional Graduate Certificate in Education in 1984 and taught languages in a private boarding school in England for 10 years.  After moving to the U. S. in 1995, Zubeen taught English as a foreign language at the Berlitz Institute, Philadelphia.  Since moving to Houston in 2001, Zubeen has elected to work one-on-one with children with learning differences and those who need general academic support.  Zubeen currently works with students of all ages as well as with adults.  Whether she is providing ADD/ADHD support or teaching writing, reading comprehension, organizational or study skills, Zubeen believes that it is essential to respect and accommodate each student’s unique learning style so as to facilitate learning and build self-confidence. 

Stephanie Kelso

Math Specialist

Stephanie specializes in math at the secondary and post-secondary levels.  She is a native Houstonian, graduating from Bellaire High School (HISD) in 2004. She has a B.S. in Mathematics and a Masters in Teaching, both from Simmons University in Boston, Massachusetts. She also serves on the Board of Directors at The Company OnStage theatre as Treasurer.
